The Discipleship Coordinator will oversee a churchwide initiative to educate and train adults at SRC with the end goal of developing mature disciples of Christ. The Coordinator’s main role is to create and implement a three-year scope and sequence of class offerings that will fuel a culture of discipleship at SRC. The Coordinator will be responsible for developing in-person educational opportunities as well as on-line options. The Coordinator will also recruit, train and oversee an Adult Education teaching team. Responsibilities also include oversight of Men’s Ministry. This position is in-office working part-time, at 25 hours per week. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cast vision for adult education classes and integrate that vision into conversations, materials and the church culture.
  • Develop a scope and sequence taking a person from new believer to rich theological understanding.
  • Create and run a 2-3 year systematic curriculum for adults, including a core curriculum and electives. Classes should include offerings on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, special weekends, and on-line.
  • Recruit a teaching team for adult learning classes by providing the initial training, regular workshops, materials and oversight needed to equip lay teachers and teaching elders.
  • Ensure that each class offered builds connection and community amongst the participants.
  • Provide oversight and training for men’s lifegroup leaders.
  • Plan and coordinate the annual Men’s Retreat.
  • Plan, prepare and teach adult education classes if needed.
  • Provide the Communications Department with all information needed to promote classes to the congregation including requests for printed promo materials, website updates, and social media blasts.
  • Reserve rooms using E-Space software.
  • Ensure systematic data collection and tracking attendance through Arena software.
  • Maintain annual budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong theological background
  • SRC member or on membership track
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to vision cast
  • Strong organization skills with attention to details
  • Periodic availability on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
  • Cooperative and collaborative spirit
