As part of the Office Team at Spanish River Christian School, it is the Student Services Office Assistant + Receptionist’s job to perform various office duties to support the school’s Administrative Team and Teaching Staff, as needed. As the first point of contact with many of our families and students, it is also the responsibility of this position to perform various duties which welcome and serve our Spanish River Christian School community. This is a part-time role working 3-4 days per week.

This position is integral in establishing and maintaining a tone of Christian hospitality and love in our Student Services Office. A background screening is required of all candidates offered employment.


REPORTS TO: 
Office Administrator


RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Prioritize the safety of children and the school.
     
  • Manage student attendance, including early release and late arrivals, by coordinating with classrooms.
     
  • Remain calm and positive in busy, stressful situations, particularly during school events with high parent activity.
     
  • Verify parent IDs for student dismissals and confirm identification when parents buzz the office door.
     
  • Respond to emails promptly.
     
  • Ensure parents feel welcomed and maintain a welcoming environment.
     
  • Handle communications for items dropped off by parents, such as lunches or backpacks.
     
  • Update and maintain the bulletin board, including the monthly updated lunch menu.
     
  • Create material for school events using Canva.
     
  • Assist with organizing school events, including contacting potential donors.
